Golfers Against Breast Cancer

Professional golfers are taking a stand against breast cancer, inspired by friends and families who have suffered from it.

Former LPGA Tour star Val Skinner started her LIFE foundation to raise money for breast cancer research after a friend and fellow tour player, Heather Farr, died from the disease at age 28 in 1996. Val's annual LIFE charity tournament in May draws a large contingent of LPGA Tour players and media.

Cristie Kerr, our new U.S. Women's Open champion, has her Birdies for Breast Cancer effort, through which she donates $50 for every birdie she makes to breast cancer research, a project spurred by her mother's successful battle against the disease.

And Morgan Pressel's new Pink Pony polo shirt from Ralph Lauren will raise money for the Florida hospital where her late mother received treatment.

I also tip my hat to our partners in the fight against breast cancer, Rally for the Cure and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. These organizations are making a difference by building awareness and raising money for research. We're proud to be their allies.

Below are links to GFW's coverage on the fight against breast cancer. Get practical advice, read inspirational stories, and learn how you can get involved in the fight. After all, we're in this together.
