OCCUPATION: Host of the NBC reality series The Biggest Loser; also plays Sami Brady on Days of Our Lives.
AGE: 31
HOMETOWN: Los Angeles
FIRST ROUND: When I was 12, my dad and brother built two golf holes with a sand trap and a putting green in our yard in Pasadena, Calif. I started to play then.
A FRIEND INDEED: My best friend is an excellent golfer, so she has taught me for the last couple of years. The first time she took me to a course I struggled. Then I hit this perfect shot that went 150 yards. It was a great moment.
BIGGEST CHALLENGE: Inconsistency. It's hard to find time to play 18 holes while being a mom [son Ben is 2 years old] and doing two shows.
FAVORITE COURSE: Montecito Country Club in Santa Barbara. Mostly I'm at the range. I'm really competitive, so I don't want to be out on the course unless I've been practicing a lot.
HIS TURN: My husband, Dave, and I got into golf as a couple. About a year ago, he and his buddies had so much fun playing with us girls that now he's off playing all the time.
HAWAII TIME: For my 30th birthday we went to Maui. My friend and I played Wailea while everyone else was at the beach. We even played through a summer storm.
SWING THOUGHT: With golf, you can't think about what you should be doing during your swing; it has to be muscle memory. It's like acting—if you're overthinking in the middle of a scene, that can be deadly.
WEIGHTY TOPIC: The Biggest Loser helps people who are struggling with their weight. I can relate to their goals.
DOES SIZE MATTER? People of all different sizes play golf. It's all about being comfortable with your body.
